Commissioner Verdes is committed to ensuring that all of the Township first responders are equipped with all the training and resources needed to keep our community safe and respond to emergencies. Commissioner Verdes has sat on the Bethlehem Township Civil Service Commission, working with the Chief and other Township Officials since January 2020 to ensure that only the most morally conscious and highest quality individuals are hired onto our police force. Since his appointment to the Board of Commissioners, he has met directly with the Chief and gone on a ride-along with one of our officers to gain more insight into the needs and culture of our department. Commissioner Verdes will continue to work with our Chief to ensure that the culture of the Bethlehem Township Police remains one of the highest standards, respecting the life and liberty of all of our residents regardless of their race, gender, or sexual identity. Commissioner Verdes recently voted yes on Purchase Order approvals for body cameras for the police department and needed rescue equipment for the fire department.
